Confluence Poets

Confluence Poets came together after a facilitated poetry workshop held at the Confluence Gallery in September 2014, and afterwards many participants decided to continue to meet twice monthly to critique and encourage one another as writers. They chose the name Confluence Poets as the group represents a confluence of voices and styles within the Methow Valley. Confluence Poets now organize quarterly readings at Confluence Gallery, as well as events and workshops in the area. Two annual events invite public participation: the William Stafford Birthday Reading in January, and a reading in April to celebrate National Poetry Month. The Confluence Poets are Subhaga Crystal Bacon, Ken Bevis, Cindy Williams Gutiérrez, Christine M. Kendall, Merry Maxwell, Lauralee Northcott, Eileen “Sam” Owen, Greg Wright.

As a group the poets have published a Postcard Poetry series of Methow Valley inspired poems on a 5 x7 format with art by Hannah Viano. Individually the poets have published collections of poetry. You can purchase works from the Confluence Poets at the Methow Valley Goods retail store on the TwispWorks campus, online at methowvalleygoods.com, The Confluence in Twisp, Sun Mountain Lodge Gift Shop, or online at confluencepoets.com.
