Blue Star Coffee Roasters is a wholesale producer of small batch, award winning, artisan roasted coffee. Owners Meg and Dan Donohue fell in love with the Methow Valley and decided to start their own coffee roasting company here after working with, and helping to create success for, industry leading artisan roasting companies since 1992. Meg and Dan have traveled the world for coffee and have a deep knowledge of all aspects of coffee growing, production, trading and culture that guides their buying practices and craft.
"Why the Methow? Because this is our heart's home, and coffee roasting is what we do," says Meg. "We knew that our company would thrive here due to the combination of a vibrant food culture, kick-ass work ethic, strong and enthusiastic support for the arts, and a diverse, inclusive community with as hared love of the beauty of this special place. "The Blue Star approach to coffee is simple. Quality in the cup is the driving principle. Meg and Dan are passionate about coffee, all aspects of it from farm to cup, and they delight in the opportunity to bring world class roasted coffee from the Methow Valley to coffee lovers everywhere. "We buy green coffee with the seasons. Flavor is paramount. We hand roast in small batches. Blend with intent, and package it fresh. Because nothing beats fresh."
ROASTING PLANT & COFFEE BAR
The Blue Star Roasting Plant & Coffee Bar gives coffee lovers a place to get delicious, artfully prepared espresso drinks, freshly brewed drip coffee, and hand brewed coffee by the cup. From the coffee bar, you can see the entire production facility and watch as green coffee is carefully roasted to create the blends and varietals. Blue Star also features fresh, locally baked pastries, and uses only organic milk in their drinks.
Located in Twisp, Washington at 1240 E Methow Valley Highway, the coffee bar is open Monday through Saturday. Blue Star beans are also available at the Methow Valley Goods retail store on the TwispWorks campus during the holiday season.
